Frequently Asked Questions
Initial evaluations are 60 minutes and include a comprehensive assessment of your concerns, needs, therapeutic expectations and goals. Dr. Biel will provide initial impressions and collaborate with you to determine appropriate next steps and treatment planning. Initial evaluations are an opportunity for us to learn more about one another and determine if we are a good fit. This goes both ways as therapy is not ‘one size fits all,' and Dr. Biel believes strongly in the relational foundation of therapy. During your first meeting, you will get a sense of Dr. Biel's style and approach and determine your level of comfort. Dr. Biel will also advise whether or not she is the most appropriate clinician to meet your needs and can provide referrals as needed.
Frequency of sessions will be determined at the time of initial assessment based on clinical appropriateness. Sessions typically occur on a weekly basis as regular, consistent engagement supports maximization of therapeutic benefits. However, treatment is highly individualized and tailored to your needs and goals. Over the course of therapy, appropriate frequency of sessions will be assessed and discussed on an ongoing basis with reduction in frequency as progress occurs.
